It is because of you that I claim victory today.
I can't begin to thank you for your support, loyalty, and work on my behalf. I am humbled by your friendship. It has been my privilege to travel these 13 counties in our Mighty Second District Appellate Court for the last year and a half and meet wonderful people like you. We've shared some laughs, some meals, and some recipes and I am a better judge for it.
I am honored to be part of the judiciary in this great nation of ours, where the daughter of an immigrant shoemaker can be elected to the office of Appellate Justice. I look forward to repaying this debt to my country by serving the people of Illinois to the absolute best of my ability. You can be assured that I will follow the law, honor the Constitution, and listen with humility to the cases before me.
